Art-in-Science competition

The DCASS Art-in-Science Competition gives participants an opportunity to demonstrate that art and science are not distinct enterprises. The process of discovery in science and engineering parallels the artistic creative processes and can give rise to images of sublime beauty.

Rules

  • Images and videos must have technical merit
  • Submissions must be your own work
  • Submissions cannot be copyrighted
  • Image display maximum size is 8.5" x 11.0"
  • Video time limit is 30 seconds and file size limit is 20 Mb
  • Each entry must have a title and a description of up to 3 sentences

The entry deadline is 5:00 PM on 19 February 2010.

Prizes

Winners are selected by a popular vote of DCASS attendees. First, second, and third place photo entries will each win a free meal to the Spring Awards Banquet and will receive a framed print of their entry. The first place video entries will win a free meal to the Spring Awards Banquet.
